A small town in Maine comes to life with a visit by The Movie Queen.
A fictional short production about a film star who arrives by train to her home in Lincoln, Maine. She tours the town and receives gifts from local merchants. The "movie queen" is kidnapped and then rescued. Scenes include a parade, streets and retail businesses, townspeople, and automobiles. The footage provides detailed views of street scenes, local businesses, residents, and industry. One of a series of films by Margaret Cram, an independent filmmaker connected with the Boston Amateur Theater League, who arranged Movie Queen events in Maine, Vermont, New York, and Massachusetts towns in the mid-1930s. In each town traveling players helped to put on a stage show, and a film was made with local people.
